Lifteknic launch new QUBE system

Lifteknic have been designing control systems since the early 1990's, The initial designs were for low rise hydraulic and traction systems, but the conventional technology known as Com-Tek evolved to provide solutions for multi car groups based on the Icon 8-180 dispatcher.

In 1997 the Quatrain system was launched - this groundbreaking product introduced the first fully distributed intelligence system with CAN bus utilised as a platform for high speed high rise solutions with dispatcherless group technology.

During the last 3 years Lifteknic have further developed the product into a common substrate for all lift types.

The QUBE system (Quatrain Block Elements) will in essence be the same controller for all applications, be they Hydraulic, VVF, AC Gearless, DCSCR Geared and Gearless lifts.

“The fact that these products can be manufactured as standard elements in conjunction with our technology partners is a crucial aspect of Qube” says Paul Ollies MD of Lifteknic. “We have access to 85% of a Qube controller in the form of two sub assemblies, which means that we can offer rapid deliveries at very reasonable prices for such advanced technology”

Previously, each control system required bespoke engineering and this had a major influence on lead-time and cost. Qube is software configurable which means that the same control system is used for a hydraulic or an AC gearless, the number of floors is a question of landing network size from 2 to 128 floors!! Such is the flexibility of the product that the power element can cater for a range of ACVF applications up to 22kW as standard.

Great emphasis has been placed on the relationship with key technology partners who provide the wiring looms and enclosures for Qube. Lifteknic are delighted with their lift inverter technology partnership with Control Techniques - “It's rather nice to offer a product that is truly made in this country, in fact Wales can be rightly proud that they have a lift control system manufacturer on the world stage” added Mr. Ollies.
